Morning Drive to Al Ain

I think I've said before that weekend mornings are my favourite time to drive in Dubai, because everyone else is still asleep and you only share the road with the big white buses full of labourers.

We got up early on Friday morning and drove out to Al Ain as the sun rose. There were patches of thick morning fog on the roadway. In the distance, we saw a hot air balloon hovering in the dawn sky. Elsewhere, we saw the Camel Racing Club giving their camels a sunrise workout at the Al Marmoum track.

Those camels are so interesting. I seem to remember a sign re camel racing?

Yes, I think we would have driven near there on that trip to the East Coast. The camel races are on weekdays, otherwise I would want to check it out for sure.
